Today’s teens are smart, technologically savvy, and global citizens [...]

Glass Half Full or Half Empty

Proceed with caution the sign read. So you took off at a reasonable pace, not too much pedal to the metal and as smoothly as possible took the first turn. You have your driver's license and your intention is to master the road ahead yet this does not guarantee your first bumper bashing. If you [...]

SA’s youth challenges can be solved through entrepreneurship

2017-02-02T12:35:42+02:00February 9th, 2015|Articles for Parents, Articles for Teens, Home|

The first time I went to Khayelitsha was on a Sunday afternoon. I had spent the day lazing around, when a friend called to say he was going there to drop somebody off and asked if I wanted to tag along. As I write this, I’m having a drink with my colleague Nick Owsley, a graduate with an Honours Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Cape Town. This blog could go on and on about all things entrepreneurial (it’s our favourite subject!) but not offer you the nitty gritty; the meat and gravy; the down and dirty.  One of our key objectives is to offer you the teenager, the parent or the educator a “How To” platform that you can refer to [...]

2017-02-02T12:35:44+02:00March 6th, 2014|Articles for Parents, General, Topical Articles|

Agreed, I’m digging deep with this analogy but bear with me. Is it daddy’s responsibility to hand 16 year old Meg the Mercedes Benz on a silver platter aka ‘My Sweet Sixteen”?  Or should dad rather be the enabler to encourage Meg (whose friends all drive Porches remember so the pressure is on) to rather [...]
