My business is called VellyBeadedBags. I create handmade bags using crystal and pearl beads, carefully designed and assembled by hand. Each bag is unique and crafted with attention to detail to give a stylish, elegant, and luxury feel.
This business started from my passion for creating beautiful things.
What inspired your entrepreneurial activities?
what inspired me to start my business was my love for handmade crafts, especially working with beads. Seeing beautiful designs online and imagining my own gave me the idea to try it myself. When I made my first beaded bag, people loved it, and that gave me the motivation to turn my hobby into a business.
I was also inspired by the idea of becoming independent and building something of my own, even while I’m still in school. I want to prove that young people can start early and succeed with their passion and hard work.
What are the biggest challenges you face in your business?
The biggest challenge I face in my business is not having enough funding to buy quality materials and grow my stock. Since I’m still in school, I don’t have a stable income, and I haven’t been able to make sales because I don’t have enough products to offer variety to customers.
Another challenge is not having business documents like CIPC registration, VAT number, or a business bank account, which makes it hard to apply for funding or get access to formal support.
Balancing schoolwork with building my business is also a challenge, but I’m committed to both and doing my best to manage my time.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In the next 5 years, I see myself as a successful young businesswoman running VellyBeadedBags and expanding into designing clothes and handmade fashion. I want to build a full brand that includes bags, clothing, and accessories.
I also dream of owning apartment complexes that people can rent, as well as a large shopping mall where I can provide space for other young entrepreneurs to sell their products. My goal is to open up opportunities for unemployed youth by creating jobs and empowering others through business.
Most of all, I want to grow into a strong, independent woman who built her dreams from creativity, hard work, and passion.
