Tell us about your business?
My business is called REIGN™, a fashion brand I started as a teenager in South Africa. REIGN™ is more than just clothing — it’s a lifestyle. We design and sell stylish, affordable streetwear like T-shirts, jackets, sneakers, and caps. Our mission is to inspire young people to express themselves with confidence, through fashion that represents ambition, culture, and creativity. We’re launching officially on 13 December 2025, and already preparing product mockups, event materials, a mobile app, and even a customer loyalty program.
What inspired your entrepreneurial activities?
Honestly, I was inspired by the desire to change my situation and build something from the ground up. I want to create a better life for myself, my family, and others like me who have big dreams but limited resources. I also saw how big brands became global empires just by starting small — and I realized I could do the same. My passion for design, technology, and business came together, and I started REIGN™ with a big vision. Even though I’m still in school, I work hard daily to make it real.
What are the biggest challenges you face in your business?
The biggest challenge has been lack of funding and resources. As a teen, I don’t have access to a lot of capital or equipment. Sometimes I work overnight designing, planning, and writing proposals because I know no one will do it for me. I also face challenges balancing school, family responsibilities, and building my brand. But I stay focused — even without sleep or money, I keep moving forward, looking for sponsorships, saving ideas, and building connections. Another challenge is being taken seriously as a young entrepreneur — but I let my work speak for itself.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I see myself as the founder of a well-known African fashion and tech company. REIGN™ will have physical stores, a strong online presence, and maybe even be branching into electronics and cars — because my long-term dream is to expand beyond fashion and build an empire. I see myself employing other youth, giving back to my community, and proving that age and background don’t define your success. I’ll still be learning, still dreaming big — but by then, people will know what REIGN™ stands for.
