We could tell you that South Africa has one of the highest numbers of youth unemployment in the world, but chances are you’ve already figured that out. There’s something brave that just can’t be ignored about youth. We commemorate June as Youth Month to honour a generation of youth who arose 40 years ago to call for a national turn around.
We recently saw students from all over South Africa unite in a stand for a shot at free education and empowerment. One way of answering the call to equip youth is by attending the inaugural (first) #TeenBoss workshop taking place from 29 June – 1 July 2016 at The River Club in Observatory, Cape Town.
The three day workshop – hosted by SA Teen Entrepreneur Foundation, in association with Over the Rainbow and Entrepreneur and Management Solutions – is tailor-made for Grade 10, 11 and 12 learners who are ready to have dominion in the entrepreneurial space.
Why would you want to be a #TeenBoss?
Are you kidding? Contrary to popular belief, being a leader is not entirely intuitive and you need to be mentored and empowered to guide others. Being the boss has a lot of responsibilities and someone needs to help you to lead to your full potential. Here are some of the cool perks of being in charge.
1. Day dream your way to the bank
Okay, it’s not just day dreaming per say, but as a #TeenBoss you can be empowered to convert your weird and wonderful ideas into cash.
2. Because I said so…
Rather than bullying or enforcing your ideas on people, you will be empowered about effective leadership styles
3. Eureka!
Be empowered to get your own light bulb moments to social and communal problems. Solutions that can then be turned into entrepreneurial ventures.
#TeenBoss workshop tickets cost R1450 for one student and R1950 for two. Click here to buy your ticket today and let your entrepreneurial spirit soar. Cost includes everything, from course material to lunch. For more information visit Teen Entrepreneur’s website.
